MARRTC Co-investigator Kristofer Hagglund Honored

Columbia, Mo. (August 1999) - Kristofer J. Hagglund, Ph.D., associate professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, was recognized as a diplomate in Rehabilitation Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology in July 1999. Hagglund is a co-investigator at the Missouri Arthritis Rehabilitation Research and Training Center and principal investigator on a MARRTC five-year research project investigating the impact of managed care on persons with arthritis.

This recognition is awarded to those individuals demonstrating expertise in rehabilitation psychology. Hagglund is one of only three board certified rehabilitation psychologists in the state. To date, there are fewer than 100 Diplomates in Rehabilitation Psychology in the United States. In addition, recently Hagglund was notified at the American Psychology Association that he has been named a Fellow in the American Psychological Association.
